Our Story

Built on Family. Built on Camp Bowie.

Joyce Anthony bought the bungalow at 1814 Ashland Ave in 1984 with a purpose. She wanted to give her brother Don a place to do what he loved. He had been behind the chair on Camp Bowie for decades, building a following of women who trusted him completely. Joyce saw that. She made sure it had a home.

She left the building to the women of her family on purpose. Darlene, Jenilee, and Bobbi restored it from the ground up and opened Povero's as a salon, a wig studio, and a boutique, all under one roof. Joyce always believed this place could be something meaningful for the women of Fort Worth. They made sure it is.

Four generations of this family have been in beauty. That does not stop here. The family saying is "I see beauty." It was passed down from great-grandmother Loretta, who opened her home to her community and made beauty feel personal. Now it means something bigger.
